This initiative began in Septeamber 2011 in the shanty colony of Chimbel, in association with Assistencia – Goa. From 2016, the centre has been supported by ‘Children Across Borders’.

Besides being a secure place for working mothers to keep their children, KDS envisioned a place where children would be provided with an atmosphere to learn social skills, develop language skills and creativity through various cognitive and aesthetic activities.

The parents of these children, who are domestic workers and labourers, are secure in the knowledge that their little ones are well looked after and are being taught and groomed for entry into formal Schools.
