The Don Bosco Academy Sutgatti, Hubli, has launched an initiative aimed at supporting the educational needs of underprivileged children in the region. The “Janadeepa” Tuition Center Project, which began earlier this year, is providing crucial educational assistance to children in Hubli Taluka and other parts of the Dharwad District.

The project, spearheaded by Don Bosco Sutgatti, has established 3 Tuition Centers to date, Gamangatti with 45 students (operational since early July 2024); Sutgatti with 22 students and Astakatte- Kalgatki with 30 students (opened in early August 2024). These Centers are already making a significant impact.

To ensure the effective delivery of educational support, the Don Bosco community has appointed three dedicated teachers, one for each center. These educators are working diligently to enhance the academic growth of the students. The project has been generously supported by Fr. Joel D’Souza, KDS Director, and the Konkan Development Society, who are funding the teachers’ salaries for the financial year 2024-2025.

Fr. James D’Souza, overseeing the project, maintains close contact with the teachers, monitoring daily activities via a WhatsApp group. He also makes frequent visits to the Centers to motivate the children and encourage them to take full advantage of the educational opportunities provided.
