Education is the key to rational living. Considering the importance of being educated, the Konkan Development Society strives to uplift and redefine the perception that studies are boring and difficult for migrant children. The NRSTCs are set up in slum areas, catering to underprivileged children to help them cope with the formal learning process.

KDS began this journey way back in 2006, with a Mobile School Bus Project, which was subsequently replaced with classes in residential areas, in 5 main locations in Goa, namely Baina, Bicholim, Chimbel, Colvale and Zuarinagar. KDS also ran seven similar study centres at Shirahatti, Gadag District Karnataka.

Children are provided with basic literacy skills, value education, medical awareness through camps for children and their parents, a nutritious snack as well as all-round personality development activities.

Children identified with special needs are helped to access testing and remedial measures to enable them to handle tasks with a degree of confidence.
