RSP Teachers’ Training on 31st October and 1st November, 2019

A two-day Teachers’ Training Programme was held for the Remedial School Project Teachers at Odxel on 31st October and 1st November 2019.
The Resource Person was Fr. Joseph Rodrigues, a Salesian Priest from Sutgatti, in Karnataka.

Fr. Joseph being young and recently ordained brought in a lot of energy, enthusiasm and excitement for all the Teachers. His sessions were based on Don Bosco’s vision, mission and education system which is the Preventive Method of Education. Fr. Joseph conducted interactive sessions touching on topics such as qualities of students and how to deal with them. He also highlighted the qualities of good teachers through a group activity. Other very helpful sessions were on life skills, stress management for teachers as well as students and the importance of proper communication.

All the sessions were laced with educative, funny and inspirational videos, interactive group sessions and games. A session on English Grammar: ‘Tenses’ was conducted by Mrs Nirmala Rebello. Teachers were put into groups. Maths problems were given to each group. The group had to solve the problem and also construct a story around the problem that was given, bringing out the tenses in the story. There were other activity based inputs too. The two days were both interesting and educative and the Teachers participated enthusiastically.
