Since 2011, Konkan Development Society has been responding to the pressing need to uplift the peripheral communities of the Gadag District by providing study classes for children from Std 1 to 9. These after school classes were started in 7 villages in the Government Schools.  With the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, we were forced to discontinue this initiative.

In January 2024, thanks to the support of our generous funding partners, we were able to revive this critical project.

At present we have 6 study Centres. 5 are funded by DSV International and 1 by local individual donors. These Centres are located in the villages of Attikatti, Haripura, Kadakol, Majjur, Soratur.

Through this project, we provide study support to 30 children from Stds. 1 to 7 in each of the Centres to help them cope with the demands of the formal school system. We also lay stress on Value education and Environmental education.
