Through harnessing Green energy(Solar Power) and planting of fruit bearing and flowering saplings , we strive to create a harmonious coexistence between communities and nature. Energy Forever is an initiative by the Salesians of Don Bosco to contribute towards reducing climate change impacts. Don Bosco Network’s vision has always been in alignment with the environmental actions outlined by the Sustainable Development Goals while also resonating with Pope Francis’ call to care for our common home – the Earth. In December 2019, the Salesian Energy Forever Conference reflecting on an appropriate Don Bosco response to the environment crisis impacting the young people we care for and serve, enumerated concrete actions that the Salesians worldwide could take to make an important difference. Don Bosco Network actively promotes many of those green initiatives:
- Greening campuses with clean renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, promoting afforestation and green cover
- Greening training, updated green skills and promoting jobs in green sectors, e-learning
- Efficient natural resource management through rainwater harvesting, waste management etc.
Rector Major of the Salesian Congregation has asked all the Salesian institutions to install renewable energy sources in Don Bosco institutions, houses, etc. Accordingly, together with Bosconet, the Konkan Development Society has taken up the initiative to introduce solar electricity power in Don Bosco institutions and houses in the Konkan region
