Teacher’s Day Celebration at Don Bosco School, Alto-Dabolim

The Teacher’s Day celebration began with a school prayer and a Prayer Service led by the students of Stds. 3 and 4, followed by a prayer song seeking blessings for all teachers. A garland was placed on Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan’s portrait and a short video was shown by a teacher. Rishi Madar (Std. 2) shared the importance of the day, and Lessia Beatty (Std. 4) expressed gratitude to teachers. Students performed a vibrant dance and tokens of love, prepared by Teachers Natasha and Simbran were given to all the staff members. Games and spot prizes were organized by the Teachers in charge. Students also gifted handmade cards and flowers to the Teachers.  The School In-Charge appreciated everyone’s efforts. The programme ended with the School and National Anthem. [D1]

Ganesh Chaturthi Celebration at Don Bosco School, Alto Dabolim

The Ganesh Chaturthi celebration, held on Monday 25th August, began with a warm welcome and a prayer, invoking divine blessings. The Primary students performed a devotional Aarti and a vibrant dance. A brief talk highlighted the festival’s values of devotion, humility, and eco-friendly celebration.

Winners of competitions held on 22nd August 2025 were felicitated. The School In-Charge appreciated the efforts of all involved. Tr. Natasha delivered the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with the School and National Anthems.

Students from Nursery to Std 4 participated in class activities like rangoli filling, collage work, making Ganesh idols using dough, origami, and garland-making. The event showcased creativity, enthusiasm, and the importance of celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi in an eco-conscious manner.

Independence Day Celebration at Don Bosco School Alto Dabolim

The school celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great enthusiasm. Staff and students gathered at 8:30 am, filled with patriotic spirit. The event began with a prayer by Master Nikhil Dunna, followed by the flag hoisting by school Manager Fr. Royston D’Souza. The National Anthem and flag song were sung with pride. The program continued in the auditorium with a meaningful introduction by Tr Sayeda. Students from Std 4 delivered inspiring speeches in English and Konkani, while Std 3 and 4 students performed patriotic dances.  Fr Royston shared insightful thoughts and guidelines, followed by a speech from the School In-Charge Mrs. Tracy Fernandes. The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks by Tr Sneha, the school anthem, and sweet distribution to all children.

ETC – Bonding Session Report

A series of bonding sessions were conducted by Don Bosco’s Konkan Development Society Educational Training Centre across multiple centers, including Panjim, Sulcorna, Fatorda, Chinchinim, Benaulim, Raia, and Lotoulim. These sessions aimed to build connections, foster teamwork, and promote meaningful interactions among students. Various fun and engaging activities were organized, including icebreaker games, group presentations, letter-writing, scavenger hunts, and creative projects.

Students participated enthusiastically in activities such as “Head Shoulder Knees, Toes, and Pen,” “Mirror Me,” “Draw Your Superhero,” “Grab the Smoothie,” and “My Identity Handprint.” These activities encouraged students to loosen up, showcase creativity, reflect on personal values, and develop appreciation for one another.

The sessions successfully created a warm and joyful environment, allowing students to unwind, connect, and celebrate togetherness. The activities promoted teamwork, creativity, and meaningful interactions, fostering a sense of unity and belonging among the students.

Overall, the bonding sessions were a huge success, strengthening peer relationships, promoting self-awareness, and creating a positive and supportive learning environment.

Mission Rabies

On June 28 June, 2025 Mr. Hiten Gohil, Education Officer, conducted an informative session for the Primary students, on the Mission Rabies campaign. He shared crucial details on rabies prevention, handling rabid dogs, and administering primary treatment. This is a valuable initiative for spreading awareness!

Farewell, Fr. Joel and Welcome, Fr. Royston!

The day (27th June) began with the inauguration of the new school library by Fr. Joel, whose support brought the project to life. Staff members and Primary students gathered to witness this proud academic milestone.

Following the inauguration, the Welcome & Farewell Ceremony was held in the School Auditorium to greet the newly appointed School Manager and bid a heartfelt farewell to the outgoing one. Anchored by Tr. Sneha, the programme began at 10:30 AM with a prayer by a Class 3 student, setting a serene tone.

Tracy Fernandes, the In-Charge, warmly introduced the new Manager, followed by a joyful Welcome Dance by Pre-Primary students, coordinated by Tr. Diksha and Tr. Sayeeda.  Tr. Natasha and students then presented tokens of love to both the Managers, expressing gratitude.  A touching PPT by Tr. Samidha showcased the outgoing Manager’s journey.

Tr. Sayeeda delivered a heartfelt thank you note, followed by a graceful Farewell Dance by Primary students, choreographed by Tr. Simbran. Tr. Yashwant concluded with the Vote of Thanks.

Behind the scenes, Tr. Kavita and Tr. Priyanka decorated the venue, Tr Yashwant handled sound, Tr. Khushboo captured photographs, and Tr. Sonia managed videography.

The event beautifully reflected the school’s spirit of respect, unity, and growth.

International Yoga Day at Don Bosco School, Dabolim

Don Bosco Pre- Primary & Primary School, Dabolim, celebrated International Yoga Day on June 21, 2025, in the school auditorium. The programme began with a morning prayer, followed by a brief introduction by Tr. Yashwant, who highlighted the importance of yoga in daily life. The children then performed warm-up exercises and various asanas under Tr. Yashwant’s guidance, thoroughly enjoying the session. The event ended with the School Anthem followed by the National Anthem.

The Pre-Primary students practiced Yoga and Meditation sessions with their Teachers in their respective classes, a day previously.

Don Bosco Dabolim’s collaboration with the Bookworm Trust

On 11th June 2025, Don Bosco School, Dabolim, began its collaboration with The Bookworm Trust, a non-profit organization promoting reading among children across 160+ schools in Goa. Mr. Rohan Naik, South Goa coordinator for Bookworm, was warmly welcomed by School In-Charge Ms. Tracy Fernandes. A fourth-grader, Leasia Betty, gave a welcome speech on behalf of the students, while Tr. Simran, the library coordinator, expressed gratitude on behalf of the staff. Mr. Naik was presented with a token of appreciation from the School’s Management and Staff.

Students from Grades 1 to 4 and their Teachers participated in the welcome ceremony. Grades 2 to 4 explored the travelling library van, borrowed books to take home, and were informed about the return process during Bookworm’s next visit. Grade 1 students browsed a curated selection of books. The visit brought great excitement, and the School looks forward to a long and meaningful partnership with Bookworm.

Welcome Assembly – Vidyapravesh

“Don Bosco School’s Vidhyapravesh programme for Class 1 students was successfully held on June 9, 2025, in the school’s auditorium. The event marked a memorable beginning to their academic journey.

The beautifully decorated stage was a testament to the creativity of our Primary Teachers. The assembly began at 9:45 am with a warm welcome ceremony, where the students were welcomed with showers of flowers and were given tokens.

Miss Zoha Makhandar led the opening prayer, followed by an energetic dance performance by the Primary Teachers. Ma’am Tracy, the In-Charge shared valuable guidelines with the students. The event concluded with the School Anthem and National Anthem.

Summer Club at Don Bosco School Dabolim

A week of Summer Club activities was organized at Don Bosco Primary School Dabolim by Bro. Trevor Rodrigues, sdb and Rueben Soares of Konkan Development Society. It was held in the school hall along with the assistance of the teachers, from 7th – 12th of April. There were exciting games and competitions like drawing and singing as well as interesting activities like bracelet making. Apart from these, there were action songs, Zumba dance and Yoga for the children. The week concluded with the prize distribution ceremony.
